Mike Shrieve to lead Young Managers' Group

Bearwood Lakes Golf Club's Director of Golf will hold the position for the next two years

CMAE England has appointed Mike Shrieve as the new Chair of its Young Managers’ Group.

Shrieve, Director of Golf at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in Berkshire, will hold the position for the next two years, leading the sub-network for members aged 35 and under.

“I’m excited and motivated to take on this new role,” said 33-year-old Shrieve, who began his career as an intern at The Grove and spent nine seasons working up to Head Golf Professional before leaving for Bearwood Lakes in 2019.

“Networking is often geared towards people in more senior roles and those further along in their career, but it’s so important to build your network early on.

“It’s is a skill that comes with practice, and the earlier you can start networking the better. The Young Managers’ Group events are always great fun and you take a lot away from them as well.”

CMAE England is one of 13 national associations forming the Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE), and comprises junior and senior professionals from clubs of all varieties throughout England, including golf, city, multi-sport, tennis and sailing.

The Young Managers’ Group was started in 2018, offering events, educational seminars and networking opportunities to members aged 35 and under.

Edward Plunket, Chairman of CMAE England, said: “Mike is incredibly talented and driven, and he is keen to help others in the industry succeed. He will be an excellent leader of the Young Managers’ Group.”

The following date has already been confirmed for the Young Managers’ Group, and more will be announced soon:
